History

1908. Company is established along the Port of Brussels ; it invests in creosote impregnation plants for wooden sleepers. Company will grow throughout the century until the 1980s.

1986. It is sold to the Lambert Group, and renamed « Chantier de Créosotage de Bruxelles (CCB) ». The legacy, expertise and recognized skills coupled to the timber sector control of Lambert Group helps to quickly acquire a large experience in Railway.

1995. Acquisition of WoodProtect (WP) which main activity in Gent is the production of wooden sleepers for the National Railway Authority (SNCB) .

1997. National Railway Authority (SNCB) takes 51% stake in CCB : This is the beginning of a great partnership.

2002. Lambert Group acquiers the production plant of « L’imprégnation des bois » settled in Mariembourg and renamed in Rail Europe (RE).

2009. Brussels Wood Renewable (BWR) is created to promote green energy from Heat recovery of wooden sleepers at the end of their life cycle. Partners are Infrabel, Lambert Group, Xylowatt and Ceres.
